Serpentinoscisto is the building material of choice for its environmentally friendly qualities since the production and installation of Serpentinoscisto products generates little or no non-recyclable waste. In addition to being 100% natural, Serpentinoscisto products can be re-used again and again, with obvious cost advantages. To this end, Pioda roofing tiles can be recuperated and re-used when restructuring the roof. For example, when 18th and 19th century (and older) churches and secular buildings throughout Lombardy are restructured, the Piodas are removed, inverted and re-installed. Furthermore, as Malenco Piodas accrue value over time, the initial one-off outlay can easily be recovered in the unlikely event that they are no longer required. No other roofing material offers such outstanding longevity.
